THE ASEAN SECRETARIAT INVITES INDONESIAN CITIZENS OR ASEAN NATIONALS WITH PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS IN INDONESIA TO APPLY FOR THE FOLLOWING VACANCY

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Secretariat is the nerve centre of ASEAN, a regional inter-governmental organisation founded in 1967, to promote peace and stability, sustained economic growth, shared prosperity and social progress. It comprises the ten countries of Southeast Asia. Currently ASEC is looking for qualified and suitable candidate to fill the positions of:

Finance and Administration Officer

Requirements
*Bachelor degree in agriculture, international cooperation, management or related field from a reputable university;
*A minimum three (3) years relevant work experience in technical role;
*Demonstrated knowledge and policy, research and technical skills in the relevant area and ability to acquire them;
*Proven skills in problem solving in a complex organisational environment and in work planning;
*Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, monitor and review policy and procedures;
*Demonstrated ability to plan and organise tasks and work flows, with proven ability for
accuracy under pressure and adherence to deadlines;
*Good oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills, including
experience in cross-cultural environment and international settings;
*Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain sound working relationships with
stakeholders;
*Demonstrated commitment to collaborative work practices;
*Sound command of English, written and spoken.
*Experience in implementing /administering regional development /coordination projects funded by international financing institutions.
*Knowledge and hands-on experience on how the governments in the Association of
*Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region work and make decisions, particularly in the areas of agriculture and food, will be an advantage.
*Salary: up to USD 1,300 per month

Technical Officer External Relations Division 1

Requirements
*Bachelor degree in International Relations, Public Policy, Public Administration, Laws,
*Social Science, Economics, Management or an appropriate related field or discipline
with a minimum five (5) years relevant work experience in technical role.
*Demonstrated knowledge and policy, research and technical skills in the relevant
area and ability to acquire them.
*Proven skills in problem solving in a complex organisational environment and in work
planning.
*Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, monitor and review policy and
procedures.
*Demonstrated ability to plan and organise tasks and work flows, with proven ability for
accuracy under pressure and adherence to deadlines.
*Very good oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills,
including experience in cross-cultural environment and international settings.
*Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain sound working relationships with
stakeholders.
*Demonstrated commitment to collaborative work practices.
*Competency in computer skills with adequate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook where relevant to the position.
*Sound command of English, written and spoken.
*Salary: starting from IDR 5,000,000.

Regional Coordinator

Requirements
*National expert in the area of agriculture, international cooperation, management or related field from a reputable university, with demonstrated knowledge and policy, research and technical skills in the relevant area and ability to acquire them.
*Experience in implementing /administering regional development /coordination projects funded by international financing institutions.
*Knowledge and hands-on experience on how the governments in the Association of
*Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region work and make decisions, particularly in the areas of agriculture and food, will be an advantage.
*Sound command of English, written and spoken.
*Salary: up to USD 2,000 per month
*Closing date: August 2, 2011

General Qualifications
*Computer literacy and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools; ability to
multi-task, work long and irregular hours, and perform tasks outside the usual job
scope; ability to function effectively, independently and as part of a team; and a
willingness to travel frequently on short notice.
